Your buyer's New Year's Resolutions for sellers:
✅ Stop answering questions with questions. Be direct with me.
✅ Don't lie to me if you haven't worked with a logo like ours. Convince me why it doesn't matter.
✅ Educate me. Use the time with me, especially my peers, to teach us something. Help me see you as a resource.
✅ Stop manufacturing urgency with end of month/quarter shenanagins. The best way to build urgency is by connecting your solution to my top priority/problem.
✅ Stop blasting my inbox with product talk. I care way more about who you've worked with, your knowledge of my problem, and what you can teach me.
✅ Want me to introduce you to my peers? Give me a reason to. Helping you close the deal faster isn't my top priority.
✅ If I don't know you, I'm going to hang up in about 30 seconds if all you do is talk about yourself. Show me you did your research. Give me a reason not to hang up.
✅ As a senior exec, don't bother reaching out to me until you've talked with someone on my team.
✅ Tell me what's different about you and your competitor—without talking sh*t about them. Better yet, help me reframe how I think about solving the problem.
✅ I can afford my own lunch and coffee. A $25 Doordash isn't helping you. It looks desperate.
