Several enterprise orgs (selling deals $100k-$1M) have walked us through their plan to completely hand off their inbound MQLs to AI agents.

- Technical buyers

- Large enterprise accounts

How I define inbound: a buyer who has opted in to marketing communications but has not filled out a demo request.

Sure, this can work with SMB. But not with sophisticated enterprise buyers.

⛔️ Big mistake #1: Not involving reps

At no point do they plan to involve a sales rep. No human that can add true strategic value via phone, email, video, social, in-person, etc.

RevOps is managing these AI agents in several of the orgs we work with.

This is a HUGE mistake. I love my RevOps folks out there.

But you're not selling. You're not talking to customers.

Converting leads into qualified meetings is not your specialty.

All in all, this is going to amount to 1) a ton of chatbot spamming with buyers and 2) a ton of unhelpful interactions that send buyers to a competitor.

I predict we'll see a much lower MQL conversion rate without human intervention.
