I'm done playing small with Outbound Squad.
I was given terrible advice a few years ago:
"Jason, you'll regret building a team...stick to just yourself"
"Your clients will only want to work with you"
"I tried building a team and would 100% recommend against it"
To be honest, I had those same thoughts myself. It was scary enough to leave my job back in 2012. And then to spend four years consulting (a fancy way of saying I failed 5x to launch a proper business)
2012 — Quit my job
2012-16 — Fail to launch five businesses
2016-2019 — My wife and I start an SDR agency (a brutal business to run)
2019-2020 — Pivot into consulting (AKA doing anything sales-related we could get hired for)
2020-2024 — Diversify what we sell: 1:1 coaching, courses, team programs, sponsorships, etc
2024-Present — Say f*ck it to everything but working with sales teams
Until 2024, we ran pretty lean with me doing all the marketing, sales, and client delivery. And help from a small team to pick-up the admin (thanks Britnie, Marga, and Lica)
And you know, it wasn't bad. We ran a lean $1M business for a few years in a row.
But I'm a sales/marketing leader. I missed having more people on the team.
Fast forward to today:
We've had the privilege of working with great companies like Shopify & iHeartMedia.
Our avg. client increases qualified opps/pipeline created by 20%+ within 90 days.
Clara Johnson is our Head of Client Transformation. She leads our delivery team. Previous top rep/leader at Outreach, Catalyst.
Amanda Long just joined full-time today as one of our Pipeline Consultants. She's led engagements with iHeartMedia, Optimizely, and more.
Aaron Milner 📈 helps lead client engagements when he's not crushing it at Orum 🥇.
Britnie Ben-Porat is our Chief of Staff and leads the back-office team to make sure our operation runs smoothly.
Oh, and we can get this all done in a 4-day workweek 🤙
We have big things coming this year and next:
- We're launching the first and only outbound methodology
- I'm writing a book and planning a launch for next year
- We're going to conduct a study of 1,000 reps across our best clients to analyze top outbounders
We're done playing small. There are too many sales teams running the "more volume" outbound playbook from 2018. And we want to help them.
